C’est vers 1868, un certains Sondre Norheim étonnat tout le monde par la technique de son invention: du virage en télémark. Cette technique fut décrite comme un saut, élégant et permettant de virer tout en gardant son équilibre.

It was around 1869, some one called Sondre Norhein surprised everybody with a weird technique , he was skiing on the télémark skis. it has been described as an elegant jump .He was able to turn and stand (without falling).
